2015 - AL KHALEDIAH EUROPEAN ARABIAN HORSE FESTIVAL IN NOWE WROŃSKA

The beautiful crystal cups were produced by AHCII partner - Crystal Glassworks Julia, with nearly 200 years of tradition.

We can certainly say that the fantastic show, but also the wonderful weather which accompanies it and world class organization, are becoming a tradition. We refer to the European Arabian Horse Festival which took place in Nowe Wrońska new Płońsk for the second time, organized in the Polska AKF stud, which is a branch of the Al Khalediah stud of Saudi Arabia. This year the festival was held on 21-22 August. The weather was lovely, visitors attended in great numbers, the organizers and most importantly the Arabian horses, the heroes of the entire event, were at their best.

Just like last year visitors were welcomed by an interesting avenue of sponsors. As a result the participants of the Festival could become acquainted with the partners of AHCII, the companies Rad – pol, Stegu, Airon and the Huta Julia glassworks. AHCII also presented its own stand. The sponsors’ logotypes were also displayed around the ring on lit-up bands of the arena. The organizers took great care of their guests and provided them with numerous facilities. A hard- surface parking was prepared close to the show ring, accessible by a tarmac road. In addition the stands for the public were roofed.

This year the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival was affiliated with the ECAHO as B – International. As such its rank was raised from category C. This certainly encouraged many breeders, the competition being well worth the trouble as the prizes made your head spin. The owners of champions were to drive off in six Mercedes-Benz cars (class A, GLA and class C). The first five horses in each class received prize money. In addition, the owner of the “Best in Show” received PLNN 15 000! Thus there was a great deal to heat up the rivalry, and an account of who won follows.

Bambina – a great shot!

The Friday (21.08) competition began with yearling fillies, divided into two classes, A and B. The winner of Class A was Michałów’s Pontia (Equator – Polonica/Ekstern), who scored 91.75 points including „20” for type. The runner up was Celita (Lawrence El Gazal - Cella  / Ekstern) bred by SO Białka and owned by Małopolska Hodowla Roślin Ltd (91.00 pts.), the second runner up Aj Emana (AJ Mardan - Emandoria / Gazal Al Shaqab) bred and owned by Ajman Stud (90.88 pts.).

In class B Janów’s delightful Bambina (Kahil Al Shaqab - Bellisa / Poganin) set the standards and left all her rivals behind by winning 93.38 points, including a „20” each for type and head and neck and as many as three “20s” for movement! In this way she beat Michałów’s mares, El Larinera (Empire - El Emeera / Ekstern) who won 92.88 points including a „20” for type, which have her the second place, and Foggita  (El Omari - Foggia / Gazal Al Shaqab) (91.75 pts.), who came third.

Crème de la crème – the outstanding Palatina and Palanga!

The best among the best, that is 4-6 year old mares and 7-year old and older mares, always arouse the greatest emotions. This time Palatina and Palanga provided their breeders, owners and the public with totally immoderate impressions. Palatina, bred and raised in Janów, (QR Marc - Palmeta / Ecaho) and owned by PPH Parys Ltd, was appreciated for exceptional movement and granted an entire row of „20s”, plus an additional „20” for type, which ultimately gave her the first place. The runner up in the class was Michałów’s Emandilla (Om El Shahmaan - Espadrilla / Monogramm )(92.38 pkt.), the second runner up was Perfinka (Esparto - Perfirka  / Gazal Al Shaqab)  bred by SO Białka and owned by Małopolska Hodowla Roślin Ltd (92.25 pts.); the fourth place went to Janów’s Euzona (Om El Bellissimo - Euzetia / Etogram) (91.88 pts.).

Her stable-mate, Emmona (Monogramm - Emilda / Pamir) won the second place, the third went to Pieta (Gazal Al Shaqab - Pilar / Fawor) bred by SK Janów Podlaski and owned by Halsdon Arabians.

Stallions’ competition – Genetrix leads the stakes

In class A of yearling colts the champion from Janów, Paris (Kahil Al Shaqab - Palmeta (PL) / Ecaho), had to step down from the first place being dethroned by Aj Azzam (AJ Mardan - Ysadora / Marwan Al Shaqab), bred and owned by the Ajman Stud. The third place went to Zeus E.A (Shanghai E.A. - Essence of Marwan E.A. (ES) / Marwan Al Shaqab) bred and owned by Equus Arabians, Albert Sorroca.

Aj Azzam

In the two year old stallions class the great hero of the day was Genetrix (Shanghai E.A - Gwarka / Monogramm), who scored 91.38 points. The runner up in the class was Shiraz de Lafon (Shanghai E.A. - Diacira de Lafon / Khidar) (91.00 pts.), and the second runner up the delightful Calateon (Vitorio TO - Calatea / Ekstern) (90.88).

The 3-year old stallions class belonged to Psyche Ull (Forteynas Magic - Psyche Victoria / Ekstern) from Chrcynno Pałac, who won over Eurogrant OZ (Ajman Moniscione - Ekspiacja / Emigrant) bred and owned by Ofer Meiri & Yitzhak Dror and Primo del Prince (Ajman Moniscione - Primadonna / Padrons Psyche) bred and owned by Mr Tomasz Tarczyński.

In the 4-6 years old stallions class the Belgian Mahder Al Jamal (Nader Al Jamal - Mahity El Jamaal / Dakar El Jamaal) had no equals and scored a total of 92.12 pts. The second place was awarded to Janów’s Barok (Om El Bellissimo - Baida / Balon) (91.38 pts.), immediately followed by Michałów’s Empire (Enzo - Emira (/ Laheeb) (91.00 pts.)

The competition between the senior gentlemen was at a very high level. The winner was Janów’s Palatino (Pesal - Palmeta / Ecaho) with 92.75 points, including one „20” for type and two „20s” for movement. The second place went to Aja Justified (WH Justice - Aja Beneja / FS Bengali) bred by Aja Arabians and owned by Ronen Braver, who was awarded one „20” each for type and head and neck and 2 x „20” for movement, which gave him a total score of 92.38 points.  Girlan-Bey (Pesal - Gracja-Bis / Monogramm) was third in the class with delightful movement, which was reflected by his score which included 4 x „20” for movement!

Palatino

Time for horse power!

Once the winners of their classes won their prizes the time came for the key element of the program, the championships! As we remember, the winners were to receive Mercedes cars, the silver medalists PLN 8 thousand and bronze medalists PLN 6 thousand.

The first Mercedes went to Janów with Bambina, who won over Michałów’s El Larinera (silver) and Pontia (bronze), and left the ring with the proud title of Champion. This was not the end as the second Mercedes also drove off to Janów! The gold medal for junior mares was awarded to Al Jazeera. The winner of the silver medal was Emandorissa and the bronze went to Patria. The result of the senior mares championship was no surprise. The gold medalist was Michałów’s Palanga, the silver and bronze went to Palatina and Emmona respectively. Palanga was also chosen the Best Horse in Show (PLN 15 thousand).

Prizes

The gold medal in the yearling colts championship and the main prize was awarded to AJ Azzam, who shared the podium with Fuerte (silver) and Janów’s Paris (bronze).

Genetrix surprized his owners indeed by winning the title of Champion of junior stallions. Thus the next Mercedes went to Mr and Mrs Agnieszka and Andrzej Wójtowicz. The silver medal was awarded to Psyche Ull and the bronze to Shiraz de Lafon.

Genetrix

The keys to the last Mercedes were presented to Mr John Mattensa (Belgium) thanks to the stallion Mahder Al Jamal. The silver medalist of senior stallions was Janów’s Palatino, the bronze medal going to Aja Justified.

On the last day (23.08) the Festival moved to the Warsaw race course, Służewiec, where the Al Khalediah Poland Cup race took place over a distance of 1600 m. The prize money was PLN 52 500. The winner was the 5-year old Muzahim (Nougatin – Małmazja/Wermut) ridden by Aslan Kardanov. The breeder of the stallion is Mr Andrzej Mroczek and his owner Mr  Jan Głowacki.

Aja Justified

There is no doubt that the Festival in Nowe Wrońska will become an permanent point in the diaries of all Arabian horse lovers as a „must attend”. Top level organization, interesting solutions, extraordinary horses, all surrounded by picturesque rural landscape make us already start counting days till the next year’s show. Rumour has it that the weather for next year has already been booked…
